Luke Hitchman, Abergavenny Wales (UK), will join FC Wichita for the 2016 season.

“At over 6’2 he’s a strong presence in the Midfield, isn’t afraid to try his luck from range, and has been absolutely deadly on set pieces during his time at Union College.” Says CEO Blake Shumaker.

Prior to coming to the states for education, Hitchman was part of the Borussia Monchengladbach youth academy program in Germany from 2006-2009. After, he moved to Cyprus to play for the POEL Nicosia from 2010-2012. Before heading to Union, Hitchman made one more stop in 2013-2014 with Vauxhall Motors Football Club, an English football club based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

This past season as a sophomore at Union College Hitchman won an AAC Championship and was awarded many accolades such as All-ACC 1st Team, All-Conference Team, NSCAA All-East Region 1st Team, NAIA All American Honorable Mention, and the AAC Offensive Player of the Year.

“Luke is a player we’ve had an agreement with for months,” said GM Larry Inlow. “It’s very exciting to have him in Wichita, he’s highly competitive, he has international experience, NPSL experience (Knoxville Force 2015), and is coming off a tremendous season with his confidence at a high. What’s not to like?”
