Jeffrey Kyei, a Tubingen Germany native, has signed with FC Wichita for the 2016 season.
Kyei graduated last spring from California University of Pennsylvania. He was immediately signed by the Pittsburg Riverhounds of the USL. Afterwards, he made a move back to Germany to play for his home town club in Tubingen. “Jeff has a few matches remaining in Tubingen before arriving back in the states,” said CEO Blake Shumaker. “Wichita fans will love him, he has tremendous technical ability and can play a handful of positions in our formation.”
Throughout college, Kyei spent a few summers with the Des Moines Menace of the PDL where he shared a room with the late FC Wichita Captain Shadow Sebele. “Shadow had great things to say about Jeff as a player and person,” said Shumaker. “Anything from Shadow carries its wait in gold with me, so we know what to expect.”
“We want players that define what the club is about, Jeff will be a perfect fit for our standards and system,” Said GM Larry Inlow. “We are very excited to have him!”
