SAINT LOUIS — FC Wichita takes their shutout streak on the road to Saint Louis in their second match of the 2019 Heartland Conference slate.
FC Wichita came away with a scoreless draw against Tulsa Athletic last Saturday. FC Wichita went into the match without Leo Catarina, Leo Sosa, Thomas Wells, Franck Tayou, James Togbah and Marcos Gomes. With Mark Weir in net, the boys in red showed off their new kits with a defensive stand that saw them steal a point on the road.

FC Wichita’s depth is shown through the roster for today’s match. One of FC Wichita’s all-time goal scorers in Luca Anelli coming off the bench. James Togbah missed last week due to an injury and he’ll return to the starting XI. Despite all of the injuries, FC Wichita is still fielding a line up that is just as dangerous offensively as it is on the defensive side of the ball.
With all the players missing in action, FC Wichita has opened up spots for Ivan Quezada and Carlos Vidrio to make the trip into the Show Me State.
FC Wichita is 2-1 all-time against Saint Louis Club Atletico. Last season in Saint Louis’ inaugural season, FC Wichita beat them at Trinity Stadium on May 12, 2018 behind two goals from Franck Tayou. FC Wichita won 4-2. On June 23, 2018, Saint Louis took advantage of FC Wichita being a man down, beating Wichita 2-1. FC Wichita beat Saint Louis 4-0 in the rubber match on July 10 at Trinity Stadium in the first round of the Heartland Conference playoffs.
