FC Wichita responded to giving up a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to equalize and steal a point on the road in Saint Louis. FC Wichita and Club Atletico Saint Louis drew 1-1 on Sunday, May 19.

All but 10 minutes or so of the first half, FC Wichita dominated the possession and pace of play. Saint Louis lived on their heels and time after time Adam James was able to get behind the Saint Louis backline. The wild wind and decent play from Saint Louis limited the chances in the first half for FC Wichita.
Saint Louis started to pick it up, finding through balls up the middle in the final 10 minutes of the half. Mark Weir was a rock in goal, making multiple saves and finding his groove early and often.
A scoreless draw the break gave FC Wichita a breather and their ability to recoup, the boys in red controlled a lot of possession in the second half.
Unfortunately in the 73rd minute, FC Wichita committed a poor foul, giving the Bluebirds a penalty kick. Liam Collins put it in the left side of the net, giving it the first FC Wichita has trailed since their loss to Little Rock last season.
They could have been deflated on ending a 386-minute scoreless streak, a franchise record. However, FC Wichita responded.
Bobby Hopper placed a ball right into the box, at the feet of the big ging, Luca Anelli. Anelli ripped it into the back of the net leveling the match.
FC Wichita missed eight players and almost stole three points on the road. They’re still undefeated on the season and finally get to come home after two road matches.
