FC Wichita Announce 2019 Conference Schedule
The fifth season for FC Wichita in the National Premier Soccer League has been set. Heartland Conference play will kick off on the road against the Tulsa Athletic on Saturday May 11th. The road to a fourth conference title has Wichita on the road during three of the first four weeks of play, but ending with a four game home stand out of their final six matches, and a chance to lock up another Heartland Championship at home.
“We plan to return upwards of 80% of our roster,” said CEO Blake Shumaker. “We know there is a few changes necessary but our success last season in the U.S. Open Cup and then adding another regular season conference title has us believing that most of the pieces are already in place.”
FC Wichita will return to Stryker Soccer Stadium for the first time in nearly two years behind a massive City of Wichita investment in it’s facilities. The first home game is against rival Tulsa on May 25th, at 7:30 PM.
FC Wichita competes in the Heartland Conference of the South Region in NPSL. Conference opponents include teams spanning across four states. Little Rock Rangers and Ozark FC in Arkansas, Demize NPSL and St. Louis Club Athletico in Missouri, Tulsa Athletic in Oklahoma. Teams play each other for two matches, home and away, in conference action over the course of May to early July. Single-elimination playoffs begin in July with the Heartland Conference Semifinal and Final, followed by the South Region Semifinal and Final, and culminating in the NPSL Championship.
Tickets for the 2019 season are set to go on sale on February 21st, 2019.
